Hurricane Candle Holder and Grunge Candle
This cute hurricane candle holder was made using only items from Dollar Tree. It looks elegant and expensive, but it so cheap to make!
Candle Holder
For the candle holder you will need a glass candle holder and a hurricane vase. All of these came from Dollar Tree and cost me $2.
I used spray paint to paint the bottom piece (the candle holder) white.
After the paint dries, use E6000 glue to glue the bottom of the vase to the top of the candle holder. Set aside to dry.
Grunge Candle
To make the grunge candle you will need a battery powered taper candle, coffee grounds, ground cinnamon, mod podge, and a pie pan. All of these came from Dollar Tree and cost me $5.
Mix the coffee and cinnamon in the pie pan. Using a sponge, apply Mod Podge over the entire candle, then roll in the coffee cinnamon mixture. Let it dry, then keep adding layers until it gets to the way you want it to look. End with a layer of Mod Podge to seal it all in.
When everything is dry, you can add embellishments to your candle holder. I glued jute string to the top of the candle holder and added a small flower. You can add anything you choose or nothing at all. I added my grunged candle and reindeer moss to my candle holder, giving it a more farmhouse look.
I love this hurricane candle holder because it goes with all seasons. You can change it up to match your decor. Instead of adding a candle, add some miniature pumpkins for fall or miniature gift boxes for Christmas.
