Nautical Coasters

I don't know how it happens or why it happens but we seem to lose coasters all the time. So instead of buying more I decided to make my own this time around.
These are quite simple to make with a twine wrapped side and a nautical stenciled side so they fit in with our beach decor.
I used a coaster kit made by Kaiser Craft for scrapbook projects. It contains 6 round wood discs and a holder for the coasters when finished. I simply wrapped twine around one side of each disc.. This does take a while but is quite simple and can be done while watching TV.
When done wrapping it looks like this.
Then I painted the other side with craft paint and stenciled a cute little sailboat on it. Sealed with mod podge and they're done. I painted the base with the same craft paint.
Now I have a cute little set of coasters that fit in with our beach decor that cost me very little. I wonder how long before these disappear. For more details please visit the link listed below.
