50 shades of……
lampshades! (Wow, that was ‘clever’ ;)
Help me choose lampshades for our living room :)
q 50 shades of, home decor, lighting
Recently, I went bonkers for yellow, so that’s what I’m looking for when it comes to shades and other decorative features.

Coral, orange and turquoise are awesome too!

And what in the name of all decor is that?! :-D

Weird, stretched, orange turtleneck lampshade thingy…
Find from Austin Powers’ garage sale ? :-D
This one, on the other hand, is perfect! Not too old school but still has 70′ feel to it.
Love the cheerful, citrus tone!

As I previously mentioned, there are three light fittings quite close to each other in the living room/kitchen area.
So, as for now, that’s what I’m planning to do :

Please, take a moment to admire my photoshop skills ;)
Here’s hubbs’ version. Angles and all :)

And there’s the standing lamp issue. We need one standing lamp. Preferably close to sofa (stay tuned for sofa update!).
My original plan was:

.plus funky, yellow, small, no-pattern lampshade.
But I can’t find decent one to match Johnny Lewis citrus shade, so now I’m thinking about this one:

It’s cheap, size is perfect and we can always change shade for more colorful.
Let me know what you think!

If you want to stay with yellow I would do the printed lamp shade in the second picture with the round ball type flowers on the ceiling light and the white one with the yellow bird on the lamp. If you want to do coral or turquoise then I would do a patterned shade on the ceiling and a solid shade on the lamp. There is a scroll type pattern and what looks like a tree branch pattern at the very bottom of the picture with the coral shades that I think either one would be great to use for the ceiling.
