How to hang a wall of mirrors, like grandma use to have?

Years ago, I removed her wall of mirrors, which were not glued to the wall, because I was able to take them down, but don’t remember what held them up. Similar to the photo below

See the frame it is most likely providing support as well as covering up the plastic holders that they sell for this purpose you screw them into the studs then mirror is placed on them. -

See that little diamond in the corners where the squares meet? Those are the brackets and the frame is holding it together or is hiding other brackets. -

I remember using these that were self adhesive on the back.
