Signing up to Park (store / Hide) All Those Annoying Remote Controls

Remote controls were getting a little out of hand in our living room. If I didn't find them stuffed inside the chair cushions, I'd be tripping over them on the floor. The side table would also be piled high with no place for my coffee. Well, I need my brew so that wouldn't do!
A vintage toolbox side table was the answer. But it needed to wake up a little, so it was painted around a movie theme in an old sign kinda way.
It's cool, it's functional, and above all... BYE BYE REMOTES! This thing works!
Coffee anyone?
P.S. Make sure you check out the OTHER side too... it's different! (click the blog link below)
How do you fight the remote issue?

Remote parking indeed... didja hear that, son?! :)
This little vintage toolbox was found in a new and used store. I fell in love with the function, but not so much the form. Let's make it sing!
The hardware was removed, then the box was sanded to prepare for a new coat of paint... or 5.
The inside was coated with a glorious coat of warm white to clean and brighten things up! But the outside was to become much more interesting in a jiffy...
Creating decals to work like stencils, each colour was painted on, then distressed once cured.
After the paint dried, the sides were distressed with a little pounding. (with no sanding) It turned out pretty authentic!
This thing really WORKS! Here's the movie side... adventure or chick flick?
And here's the remote side. An additional cute little red toolbox helps further organize things. Sleep tight, guys!
It's perfect! But this little side table has a special secret... it looks completely different on the OTHER side. Come on over to the blog and take a peek...
