Terra Cotta Turtles

As you know, I'm always making things with terra cotta pots. This time, I'm creating fun turtles that can be put on display inside or out. You can see more of my crazy creations here

I started by painting an 8-inch terra cotta saucer with Folk Art Multi-Surface acrylic paint in the color fresh foliage. I let that dry completely after painting.

Next I took 4, 2 inch terra cotta mini flower pots and painted them with the fresh foliage paint.

Once the saucer was dry I used a stencil brush to create little circles to resemble the turtle shell. I used Folk Art Evergreen paint.

I painted a ping pong ball with the Folk Art fresh foliage paint.

Once everything was dry, it was time to assemble. I placed the mini flower pots inside the saucer and hot glued them into place.

I hot glued the ping pong ball onto the saucer for the head of the turtle.

I used a permanent marker to draw on the turtle face.
