$50 Shiplap Accent Wall

Hey All!
We are pumped to share this awesome shiplap wall look without the cost of actual shiplap or even the old house to go with it!!!
We started off with ripping down .5” plywood sheets into 6” strips! This can be done at Lowe’s, Home Depot or even on a small table saw at home.
Once we cut the plywood pieces we stacked them up just to make sure they were the same size.
Next we started to install them on the desired accent wall. Always helps to have a friend help you with the layout.
We started with the top of the wall and worked down in order to hide any imperfections at the base boards where they won’t be seen.
We alternated the length of the panels in order to give a well balanced look on the wall.
We had to cut out holes for light switches and outlets. This took a little measuring however was not very hard at all!!
Lastly, once the wall was complete we painted it white to achieve that old shiplap/farmhouse look.
We hope you love it!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Want to try this on our ugly, falling-apart, popcorn garage ceiling. What do you think?
Looks like you may have left some "spacing" between the boards, both vertically and horizontally. Did you use some sort of spacers to keep it uniform? Did you use a different paint color in the spaces?
Do you think I could hear up old pallets for this
