I have good news for you! You can build a Giant Chalkboard any size you want! (Although, typically you’ll be restricted to 4′ x 8′ if you want to use a sheet of masonite.) And you can mix your own chalkboard paint in any color.
Get the full Materials and Supply List on the blog post.
Paint the masonite with the chalkboard paint. Let dry. Lightly sand and add a second coat of chalkboard paint.
Once you've painted the chalkboard you're ready to assemble the chalkboard frame. Start by cutting the end of one of the 1×4″ boards at a 45 degree angle.
Full building instructions with photos are on the blog. You can do this!
To get a rustic and distressed look, stain your frame and then dry brush it white.
You can even DIY your own projector to make writing your chalkboard message easier.
I can change out the message depending on the seasons. I hope you build your own Giant Vintage Chalkboard. It’s easy and you can customize it to your space.
