Easy
This fabulous chalkboard framed with an arrow is quick and easy to build. The chalkboard itself is 1/2" plywood while the frame is constructed of 1x4s and 3/4" square dowels. This was my project for the
Start by cutting the 1/2" plywood to size and drilling pocket holes in all four edges. Cut the 3/4" dowels to fit the top and one side, and add a 45° mitered corner, then secure in place with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
Cut the pieces for the arrow portion of the frame with a mitered corner. The head and tail of the arrow are easy to cut with a few strategically placed 45° angles.
The frame can be stained first, then taped off so that chalkboard paint can be applied to what will be the chalkboard panel (the 1/2" plywood). The cut list, material list, and assembly diagrams with photos can be found in the blog post.
