DIY Embroidery Hoop Wall Decor
I love a good piece of wall art! I really love a unique piece! I decided to create just that using a piece of drift wood, embroidery hoops, and doilies.
This project was simple; and can be made using various types of fabrics and such.
I love embroidery hoops. When I see them at thrift stores I grab them! You can use any size you prefer for this project.
I used doilies for this project. I found these at the Goodwill. You could really use any fabric you would like for this project.
Due to the size of the doilies, I chose smaller hoops for this project. I started by removing the inside hoop.
I matched up doilies that would fit each hoop the best. I then laid the doilie on top of the outside hoop.
Once I had the doilie placed evenly on top of the outside hoop, I pressed the inside hoop over the doilie.
I did not want to cut the doilies, so I was ok with some of the doilie hanging outside the hoop. You can always cut the fabric down, around the hoop if wanted.
I decided to create four hoops for my piece. You can add as many or little as you like.
I decided to use a piece of drift wood to hang the hoops from. You can really use any type of rod.
I wanted this particular wall piece to have a fall flair; so I used these faux fall eucalyptus I found on Amazon. I attached the floral with twine.
I always like to find ways to make hanging wall decor temporary. So I choose ways that don't include permanent glue or what not. Here I have used twine to tie the floral onto the drift wood.
I decided to use some lace ribbon to hang the doilie hoops from the drift wood. I cut each piece different lengths so each hoop would hang at different lengths.
I simply placed the lace through the hoop adjuster and tied onto the wood
I hung the wood up with twine. I just tied the twine to each end of the wood and hung as shown.
