How do I change the color of the green tile?

Not looking to remove the tiles. Prefer a slate look or something in an earth tone

There are decals that you can put on tile. This website has some really nice looking ones in multiple colors. They also have window film, I wonder if that would work too?

Find a contact paper that has the design or color you want, then cut squares to fit the tile. Peel and stick the contact paper to the tiles but you can always remove them when you change your mind.

Paint them over with BBQ paint
tile paint and then over it. Lots of DIY projects on YouTube.
You can paint them and put a stencil design on them too
