Taking old wall paper down on one entire wall easily?

Question

I have one bedroom wall that the obnoxious ex husband put up white thick wallpaper up in the bedroom and I cannot figure out how to get it off the wall. I have tried everything I can think of but it is still won't let me remove it.

Is it on plaster or drywall? Old wallpaper on plaster was sometimes applied with wheatpaste, which can be scored and steamed off without wall damage. New adhesives on drywall are difficult to remove without damage.

With a boatload of patience, a jug of iced tea, lemonade or adult beverage of choice, scoring and steaming will eventually get it off. The more you score, the more steam seeps in, the easier to remove.

Sounds like anaglypta, here is how its done.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNR4TEnMYiA then soak the paper backing with hot water and fabric softner using a garden sprayer and a car sponge and basin. I do encase the floor in plastic tarps fastened up over the baseboards using painters tape, then I put a row of thick newspapers along the wall line to soak up the excess solution. I put a big trash can in the middle lined with large contractor bag.

Have you tried renting a steamer?

Here is one woman's fight with her anaglypta... http://www.happyandwarm.uk/removing-wallpaper/ I have never seen a perforator like that in 50 years of scraping off wallpaper but its awesome. If those walls are drywall, you will probably have to skim coat them afterwards.

If it’s thick try removing the top layer then soak the under layer. It may then be able to penetrate and soften the glue.
