Architectural detail is given to a room's plain slanted ceiling. The faux beams (they are not intended for structural applications), were built on a three sided box design, out of 1 x 4 material. Then they were attached to the 2 x 4 cleats on the ceiling.
They totally transformed the feeling of the room!

Yes! I’m going to try this and hope I can do it! I’ve been wanting beans forever. I have a Ranch that is decorated very Primitive and Colonial and I want to do beam in the worst way but it’s hard when you don’t have someone that can help you. I just need to know how to install them to the ceiling, and keeping them in place and not falling

My concerns are when putting up the beams what do you use to keep them mounted?
