Coating for wood floors- What would you recommend?

We have been in our home for 10 years and we are the first owners of the home. I feel that I should be putting some kind of coating on our wood floors since they are no longer shinny. What would you recommend?

What have you been using to clean them? When you moved in, did they provide you with all the instructions for care and warranties on all the fixtures and appliances?
I would clean them well using Bona products and then determine what to do next.
If in fact, they do need refinishing, it is a bit of a messy process, but we'll worth the effort.
