How do you repair a 3x3 carpet square that my dog ruined?

I have tried 2 times to cut out the square and replace it with another matching piece of carpet, but it never looks good. I know it won't match at first but you can see the square. I can't seem to make is blend in so you can't see it so much.

The trick to joining carpet is to have the nap match. If the carpet has pile, brush your hand across it to see which direction makes it lighter and which makes it darker. Do the same with the patch. Get both pieces going in the same direction and that should help. Sometime carpet installers will use shears to make the pile level at a seam.

Take a square from underneath a large piece of furniture and use that and replace with the new square or old square..........

Yes maybe the nap is going in the opposite direction of the carpet that is there... check that out.
