We have carpet that was heavily glued onto our concrete slab. We have tried everything. We even asked contractors, they don’t want to deal with it. We are seniors, and would need to hire someone.

I bought a cheap multi purpose oscillating tool at Harbor Freight. It comes with a scraper blade. I used it between the carpet and the glue, pulling on the carpet as I worked. Not fun, but it did work. There will probably be some remaining glue, which didn't matter in my case. If it matters to you, I'd try something like Citrus Strip (?) to soften and remove it.

Try the online Home Advisor.com for someone in your area, to do the job. They give you a few choices, and have them come out f9r an estimate.

Hi there, If it won't come up, then leave it. Cover it up, overboard the floor. Lay another carpet on top (as you said it's going knowhere) etc...... good luck!
