How to stop floors from squeaking?

My laminate wood flooring squeaks like crazy! I saw a post that said to put baby powder between the floorboards but there is no space between them! They have those lock-in grooves that don't have any space between them at all. Help?

Years ago I was told you had to get to the joists to stop the squeaks, but with today's laminate floors, baby powder can indeed work. Linda,Thank you! I have what I need so I will try it and let you know. I was told that the squeaks come from the plywood under the laminate, so here's hoping!Annette
