we have removed the carpeting in our main living area. Might stain. If not staining, what would be the next best thing?

Laminate flooring works great with pets and easy clean up.

Our 'dog house' is half tile and half hardwood--no carpet. Works great! Choose colors that are the same as your dog hair!

I can only speak for myself, but I have an active beagle and two cats and the best flooring for me is a laminate like Pergo. It not only stands up to claws but is really easy to keep clean. Just sweep/damp mop.

  • Hardwood or vinyl or tile. I have Pergo and absolutely can't stand it.

I hate my laminate floors here, shows every footprint and nothing I've tried to clean it without leaving streaks works. My boyfriend has better ones... they are laminate but not cheap stuff, maybe bamboo? You couldn't see any marks whatsoever there..tile in kitche unless like ours one big room then same all over.

Tile floor works best just make sure you buy several extra boxes so you can replace a tile if it later cracks or gets chipped. I did dog rescue and adopted out 700 dogs over a 10year period so I was continually house training dogs.
