Can anyone identify this tree with red berries?

Is it a cranberry tree? The berries hang down from a cluster of stems like cherries.

Crepe Myrtle. Love them! Where I live they use them in many public spaces. Once established, drought tolerant, low maintenance and virtually pest free. Easy to grow and does not have an invasive root system. I planted one in my front yard.
