How do I dig up my small Box wood shrubs and re plant them else where

i have 10 Box wood shrubs that I have to move from around a Birch tree that is being removed due to storm damage .

First prepare the site to where you will move the boxwoods, including filling holes with water and checking for drainage. Then dig out at least 12 inches from the drip line of each shrub, all around. Depending upon how old the boxwoods are, and where you're located, you may have to dig deep. Expect them to sustain some "shock", if you've had these for some time, until they acclimate to new locale. Be very careful not to injure the tree roots of the Birch. -

Are you removing the Birch? If not tree professionals can work around the boxwoods. Why not plant a new tree around boxwoods. If you do move the boxwoods, remember they're smelly. 😜
