Live in southwest and my fountain grass looks brown is it ok to trim?

Hi, fountain grass does well trimming it down to about six inches. If you get freeze, trim and cover with mulch. In spring, remove mulch and spread around grass. Good luck.Helpful Reply -

Generally grasses will brown from not enough water. If you trim it you will be cutting g off the plumes.Helpful Reply -

There are many varieties of "fountain" grasses. Try searching ornamental grass varieties. I trim mine to 6-8 inches after the freeze and it comes back beautiful every year.Helpful Reply -
