I have Vinca, almost three seasons of non-stop bloom, and now Dianthus for going on its second winter, also thriving, in addition to some Wave petunias in pots. This is in Brevard County near the Atlantic Coast.Helpful Reply -

I'm not sure if you mean flowers or trees/shrub but I have had success with both. I have a couple of tea olive trees by our back porch and they bloom during the winter months and the fragrance is wonderful. Check out this link http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/landscape/shrubs/hgic1083.html.I also grow hardy gloxinia that bloom in the spring and then again in the cooler months of fall until we have a hard freeze which here in NW Florida usually doesn't happen until January. It's a perennial so it will continue to grow and produce for many years. Not sure if it would survive as far south as you are though. If you're looking for annuals, try pansies or snapdragons, both of which can handle sudden drops in temperatureHelpful Reply -
