Depending on where you live, you want to plant ANY tree or shrub when it is going dormant so it can acclimate in its new spot. In North Texas, that's mid to late October when the weather is cooling but the ground hasn't frozen.Helpful Reply -

If tree is potted, it can be planted anytime as long as you water faithfully each week until cold weather returns.Helpful Reply -
