We never trim unless branches are too low. Every year we get flowers. -

Early winter or as soon as the usual date for the last freeze has passed. MD runs a month later than Georgia for usual freeze dates, but March is about right for you. Check your local weather history. 😇 -

Trimming, even if it's only the seed clusters, is necessary. Letting seed clusters stay on crepe myrtles will keep it from blooming as fully as possible. Just saying.
