I don't see why not, just make sure you use a large pot with good drain holes -

The good veg garden plant and seed suppliers on the www sell the roots, whichdo take 2 years to produce stalks. After you can separate the roots to multiply them. Or you can grow it from grains -

Local Lowes or Home depot have them. Usually in packages where the bulbs are kept
