I still have seeds to plant in containers. Is it too late?

Depends on the plant. If germination is 7-10 days with maturity in a month your fine. Some take 21 days to germinate, and 3 mos to mature - that's Sept, kinda late

I would say it all depends on where you live. If you live in Minnesota or those northern COLD states I would say it's a 50 50 chance, you might get a decent harvest or you might not =( If you live in Florida or a southern state then I think you can still plant and have a harvest. As long as you give them some shade against the blazing sun. I live in SW Florida and just started some seeds yesterday because my Existing plants have been attacked by an insect and killed off my new zucchini plants. So I'm trying a different method. If at first you dont succeed....TRY AND TRY AGAIN! =) I'm not a pro at gardening so these are just my opinion. I say try it if ya have nothing to lose.

Don't give up!! I have had seeds grow well, plant and not survive and the other group of seeds I have planted grew like Jack in the Bean stalk. Just care for them, water, sun, light, hoe, watch for critters......I am into seeds in Large pots on my enclosed deck. I gave up on the garden....too many critters!!

I am in Se Minnesota. I had to replant some green beans and corn and they are finally coming up and growing well, some of the corn is at least a foot high. Unexpected cold weather combined with too much rain rotted some seeds. Try putting the larger seeds like beans, corn, etc. on wet sponges to hasten germination. This softens the outer hull so it can start growing quicker. I would suggest that you purchase already growing well plants for the longer growing season plants like tomato's, winter squash, check the maturity time of the fruit before you plant the seeds and see if it is too close to first freeze time. All you can do is try! Good luck!
