We are buying a house that has a few different levels however when the real estate seller sent some one over to cut the grass they only did the flat area's. How do I even start to tackle the tall grass. It's probably like four foot tall.

You can set your push lawn mower at it's highest setting to start with and start mowing a small area at a time. Rake out the long grass as you go. Evidently you will have the whole area knocked down and then you can go back and cut the grass shorter. Or you can use a hand held sickle to go in and cut the grass down to a more manageable height and then use your lawn mower. It will be a job if it is a large area but it can be done with some hard work.

I use a weed eater and lop off the tallest foot and work down until it low enough to mower easily. Sort of like trimming hair take some length off and work the length down to where you want it.

  • You can rent a brush hog at hardware stores like home depot and lowes

make sure that you walk the area before cutting. there might be things in there you dont want to cut.

maybe you could hire someone to cut that the first time since they usually have commerical equipment. Then you would know what you are dealing with after it's cut down and you can see it better good luck
you can look on Angie's List and put in your zip code to find people who do this kind of work and get their ratings from customers

Yep ... rent a brush mower... it is like a big string trimmer with wheels... and since you bought the place... you might add one to your tool corral....
incidentally... if you were charged money to have the grass mowed... ask the Real Estate agent to have it re-done.... or to get a refund on the part that was not done.
