Definitely a Monkey Puzzle Tree. If you google images of the needles, it looks like a match.
I would agree a Monkey Puzzle tree and yes they do get big and the spikes a sharp to.
Your tree is definitely a Monkey Puzzle tree... take good care of it, it's considered endangered. It's also the national tree of Chili. If you want to learn more about this tree, check it out at...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araucaria_araucana

It’s a monkey tree
It's a Monkey Puzzle tree. Yours is very young. Slow growers but can get to be a big tree. The "cones" are ball shaped and can get pretty large before they break open. Definitely a "Statement" tree in any garden.

Weeping willow
Certainly NOT a weeping willow.
Norfolk Pine. I had one a few years ago.
Monkey Puzzle tree. Not native to the U.S. (native to Chile) but they do grow in California. Called this because someone saw it and said, "it would puzzle a monkey to climb that!"
It's a monkey tree
Its a monkey tree and there is a huge old one in Venice, FL that is over 50ft tall near the beach. I would love to know the historic use of its ruthless limbs!
