What are the best veggies for a container garden?

I use a lot of really big pots for most of my potted veggies. My pot are big enough to grow six leaf butter lettuce plants and a sweet pepper in the middle. I had a tomato plant that was close to five foot high not counting the pot that was about two feet high. Herbs I put in at least ten inch pots and the plants yield a lot of herbs. I have pots of veggies out our side kitchen door all the way to the garage, six hanging pots of strawberries on the other side of the driveway and some flowers on the fence in window boxes. Use good potting soil, I also mix in some extra peat moss. Fertilize regularly with a good one, I use Miracle grow extended release, you don't want to use foliar feeding on vegetables, just the roots. The only exception to that is to give your tomatoes a good spray of a calcium supplement before the tomatoes ripen to prevent blossom end rot that is caused by calcium deficiency. The only time I get that is in potted tomatoes. Because of all the water potted vegetables need, the nutrients are used up quite quickly, especially the calcium in the tomato plants. Make sure you water the plants and don't let them get real dry. Potted plants require more water than plants in the ground.
