The art of handwritten letters is just about completely extinct. But, occasionally something needs to be mailed via "snail mail". If you love making your own cards...or even writing a letter by hand...this is a really special way to send it. And...there is a template on the site to download. These envelopes can be elegant, whimsical, or whatever mood you are today. How would you feel about receiving a special handmade letter? Let's bring back the art of letter writing!

This is such a great, smart recycling project and depending on the envelope size, there are many uses other than mail for these cool envelopes: organizing important documents, corralling project pieces, gift cards, confetti ... lots of fun uses.
Thank you for sharing AND inspiring!
PS: And thank you for the envelope template ~ I "screenshot" it and was able to resize it for my uses.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Your blog on handmade envelopes from magazines is great, however I can't find the download for the template. Can you help me out?
Where is your template for making envelopes?
My college roommate and I used to make envelopes from magazines. I had forgotten about that and I'm so glad you shared this! For anyone needing a template, grab an envelope from your stationery and open up the seams to flatten. If you want to make a lot, then use spray adhesive to attach it to cardboard. It'll be more durable. 🙂
