I needed a desk and wifey says "well then build one" so I did and here it is.. the dimensions are 30"X24"X72" "or something like that, the top was a jointed and glue'd board that I got from Lowe's I had wanted to make the top out of Poplar or select pine but wasn't gonna shell out 17-20 bucks for a board of wood... The legs are made of laminated 2x4's cut down to 3"X3", I used a number of joinery techniques all simple, ie. Kreg Jig, Dado and Rabbett or rabbit or rab-it.... "K" you know what I mean LOL!!, the bottom is finished with Valspar Semi-gloss black, and the top was sanded with 80,120,220 and early American stain (2 coats) with Valspar Satin finish Poly (2 coats) followed by Machined in Wax (2 coats) I also cut in two holes for wire and cable management. Sooooo "wadya think?" If you want a cut list I'll be glad to provide one...THANKS FOR LOOKING!
not the best quality wood but with some good prep and taking my time I was able to achieve a quality finish that will last
Just waiting for the top to dry in between coats of stain, could've gone a little darker, may be next time..
VOILA!! instant wire and cable management system, "I hate dangling wires!!!"
just a quick view from the bottom, nothing fancy but I still like the design
Things were finally coming together here, I was happy that measured twice and cut once, working with construction grade lumbar is challenging since the cuts of wood are pretty rough and there are a lot blemishes er... I mean character marks on it..
if you look close enough you can see that my legs are two laminated 2X4s
Gotta love my Kreg Jig, I figured I would plug the holes and make a nice clean finish, even though it was on the underside of the table...
glue, glue and more glue gotta make sure them legs would never come apart
Think I got enough Clamps!!! NEVER!!!!!!
half lap, dado, Rabbett, a lil bit of everything to get this together....

Hi, I really like the look & size of this desk, I've decided I'm going to go ahead with it, I was just wondering if it was possible to get the cuts off you? I couldn't see them anywhere.
Cheers
