How to Make a Top Bunk Bed Desk

IKEA Alert! Sharing a bedroom can be hard so I decided to help solve this problem by creating a space just for my sister. Since she like to draw and create things I came up with a design to give her a top bunk desk using a IKEA LINNMON white table top
The LINNMON white table top only cost me $19.99. It was the right length but the wrong width. The width was a bit wide so I needed to cut it. At the time I had not bought myself a electric saw however if you have one you can use that or even a handheld saw.
I use screws to drill into the desk using the brackets as my guide. I used one screw per bracket but you can use two.
I repeated the same step to the wall without the desk being attached. Used a pencil to mark where the nails will go then drilled the screws in.
Now add the brackets to the wall and the table up top. I bought these EKBY LERBERG brackets from IKEA for $2.50 each.
Have the other side of the desk rest on the rail of the bunk bed.
It is a pretty simple and affordable project to make and it works out perfectly for a small bedroom. It provides a huge space to create while gives personal space for those who have to share a bedroom.

This is a great idea! I’m going to scale this down and make a nightstand for my sons loft bed.

Have a question about this project?
I'm having a hard time picturing exactly what you did- is it possible to take a pic from across the room to show more of the project? It sounds like such a great idea - thank you.
Does he desk rest on the head of the bed where the bed is a foot or two from the wall?
I can’t see the final project with the bed. Where are the photos showing the entire finished project?
