Found this desk on Craig's List for $40.
old writing desk, painted furniture
The laminate was loose and peeling, so I removed it and covered the top w paintable wallpaper. I wallpapered the drawer, as well.
Let it dry overnight...
Painted it, once the outdoor temperature reached at least 50 degrees!
Purchased the knobs at Hobby Lobby (to match my Victrola Cabinent) and had a piece of glass cut for the top.

    I am fairly new to Hometalk , I looked back at previous comments trying to find directions but my old computer just won't go all the way to start. This is elegant and doesn't sound too expensive. I want to try it, so if you have posted instructions can you advise or is there a site I can follow you. I don't have Facebook, twitter, or any of the other " social media" sites.
