You can purchase pretty inexpensive laminate countertops in lots of different lengths and designs at your local home improvement store. You can then purchase two file cabinets and put the countertop on top of them. Boom, you have a desk and storage :)
I see that this question was posted three years ago. However, I would like to add a comment that for any home office, I would highly recommend moving any existing electrical outlets up to a height more easily accessible, such as countertop height. Then replace with outlets that has built in usb charging ports. These are available in many different styles now. Here are a couple of examples:
