Whitefish Bay Master Suite/ Family Room Addition
Having outgrown this 1930’s Cream City brick Colonial, the homeowners decided on a two-story master suite and family room addition to meet their expanding needs, remain near good neighbors, and stay in the same school system. The new addition enhanced the family’s lifestyle with an efficient mudroom entry and covered porch, an enlarged family room off the kitchen with abundant natural light and entertainment opportunities, and a second-story master suite to call their own. This phase of the renovation also included a new front entry with a stamped walkway, second story bathroom remodel, additional storage, and refinished hardwood flooring.
A polished Giallo Napoleon granite countertop was selected to match the shower tile and the Mocha Plato cabinets. White Kohler Caxton Undermount Lavatory sinks were used with Delta Addision Windespread Lavatory faucets in a stainless finish. The shower featured a stainless Delta Touch-Clean 3-Setting showerhead. A Kohler Wellworth Toilet with Highline bowl were used as well as a Kohler recessed medicine cabinet with a beveled mirror edge. An 8" marble Diana Royal corner shelf, and a Granite Giallo Napoleon bench seat were installed in the shower. 13" x 3" and 13" Ceramic Prato field tiles in Classico finish were used on the master bath floor and 2" Porcelain Florim USA Stonefire mosaic tile was featured on the shower floor. 12" x 24" Stonefire tile was spread across the shower walls for a wider look.

Janis Company added a master suite on the second floor for added space for the homeowners. The addition seamlessly integrates into the existing cream city brick home and adds much needed space to this family of four.
New mudroom addition showing the exposed cream city brick from the previous exterior of the home. The brick brings out a lot of character from the original home and incorporates it into the new space. The Plato Prelude cabinets provide plenty of shoe and jacket storage as the family enters from the rear of the home. Porcelain Florim USA Afrika field tile in a Dakar finish was laid on the mudroom floor in a Triad Hopscotch pattern with 18", 12" and 6" repeating tiles. Very durable for an active space.

Jeffrey Goodman on Apr 06, 2016I really like the brick from the old part of the house that is connected with the new part. The stone tile brings it together with the wooden cabinets. It really came together very well. http://www.bohnstedtconstructionco.com
