Chalk Painted kitchen cabinets & cottage kitchen redo

We decided to tear out our existing builder grade cabinets and rebuild them with some open shelving incorporated into the design. We used Annie Sloan chalk paint on all of the lower and upper cabinets.

My cabinets are painted with oil paint. Does chalk paint go over oil or do they need to be primed first?

Love your back splash tile! Can I ask where you got it, or name of tile? I tried finding your blogspot for sources , but seems you've moved on to Instagram, which I don't use. Thanks in advance.

Using chalk paint generally requires some type of seal to keep the paint from coming off if it is nicked. Some use wax and others use a lacquer. What did you use?
