My entry for Septembers Fab Flipping Furniture Contest - Geometric Design
When it comes to geometric design in furniture Paul Evans comes to mind, I have been dying to create an homage to the famous modernistic furniture designer for a while now, and this months theme fit the bill perfectly!
Here are some before shots of a piece I picked up on craigslist, this little vintage Drexel number was about as close to Mid Century Modern design I could get at an affordable price.
The brass hardware was the inspiration for the geometric design incorporated on the piece. And this months sponsor was General Finishes, so of course I used their products to create this true black finish.
Here is a shot of the vintage distressed brass look I was going for to mimic the hardware.
Here is an example of the geometric design inspired by the original brass hardware.
