Spray Painted File Cart

I LOVE Facebook Marketplace. Like, someone come delete the app from my phone before I buy everyone's junk kind of love.
I have a special skill of seeing the potential in all of those poorly lit, dusty photos of stuff people are selling.
I'm always on the lookout for unique pieces that you can't just run out and buy.
So when I saw this cute little file cart listed for $8 I had to snag it. It would be perfect for a little book nook or our kid's school at home workstation.
It needed some love ( and a good cleaning), but the potential was there.
The top was a laminate / MDF surface, so before painting I used my random orbital sander with 229 grit sandpaper just to lightly rough up the surface.
After that I gave it a really good cleaning to get off any old grease, grime and dust.
I used Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy to spray the surface. If you follow the directions properly this stuff works like a dream! It hardens to an enamel like surface. I sprayed the top portion in white.
And the bottom rack with black.
Here she is! All dried, put back together and ready to shine! The power of spray paint never ceases to amaze me.
You can check out how I used this same paint to transform my bathroom countertop in the post linked below.

I was gonna say it, too. This is a stereo table and the slots were for the 33rpm albums.

Can I use the appliance paint on kitchen counters? Ours are an ugly whitish which are stained from various items. How would I go about painting the counters. Does the appliance paint come in other colors. Can I paint appliances another color too?
