You can very well make almost anything with these basic power tools. These tools are the miter saw, sander, brad nail gun, drill and jig saw. With these you can make this basic Step Stool or just about anything you can dream up.

Basic Power Tools for the avid DIYer: Sander, Jig Saw, brad nailer, drill, & miter saw
The cut pieces for the step stool
trace the curve template for the step stool
using the jig saw cutout the curved edge on the 14" 2x4 pieces.
sand to smooth rough edges
assemble the stool
Now Step it up and don't be afraid to use power tools. The power belongs to you ;)
