If you saw part #1 of our clients vintage farmhouse dining chairs ... Here's Part #2 the dining table!
To recap... this is a beautiful dining room set that once belonged to their grandmother! They have used the set for many years but now their in the process of renovating their home and no longer suits their newly renovated home. Which is why they contacted us to give their treasures a Superior Makeover and refinish their furniture! This set has a lot of sentimental value! :)
Please note: All finishes and colours are chosen 100% from our clients to suit their style and home.
Here's the before photo of our clients dining room table. There was a lot of damage to the finish and they disliked the stain colour. The base of the pedestals of the table were needing re-laminating.
Here's the game plan... new upholstery for the chairs, chemically strip the top and stain in a more natural brown and paint the base, apron and chairs in Superior Paint Co. Little White.
Here's the after!
Here's a great photo of the top to show the new stain colour! It was a nice small change... they liked the wood grain but wanted a more neutral brown stain.
One of the biggest battles we had to deal with on this set was blocking the tannins (bleed through) and repairing all the surface damage.
The key products we used to renew the base was....
-Saman White Wood Putty
-Superior Base Coat
-Little White
-Varnish
The top needing to be absolutely flawless when we stain and seal tops we use this HVLP Sprayer - The Earlex HVLP SprayPort
Here's a teaser the chairs we refinished from this dining set! For more information check out our previous post here...
