Add in your cabinets too. It can be tricky, this is why people hire designers. Stop in a few kitchen and bath showrooms and chat with the staff. It doesn't have to a one stop shop either, visit several and get samples to take with you wherever you go. Once you find a combination you love, then start ordering. Here are some sites to discuss the finer details. When choosing, not only look for how pretty they are, but your lifestyle. Kids, pets, elderly? All these surfaces need to be cleaned regularly, you also want ease of maintenance too - no one wants to be cleaning their life away.

before redoing my house I went online for inspiration. Look at kitchens you like and mimic the look.
I personally like a light floor (Travertine was my choice), and a darker wood cabinet a chestnut or cherry finish with chocolate glaze. I did a lighter cooler toned granite and then a multicolor glass tile backsplash. 1st picture
I helped a friend pick her colors and did a wood look tile tile floor in a beach driftwood color, chestnut cabinet, striking granite and then a herringbone pattern subway tile in a creamy taupe crackle finish. Floor and kitchen pictures shown seperately
