How to update house with all maple kitchen cabinets and trim?

Help my 1960's ranch house needs an update. The trouble is all my windows are fairly new and maple as well. I wanted to paint my kitchen cabinets and all the doors and trim white but won't that look odd with my windows still in maple?

I don't think so. Many people have a different kitchen cabinet and trim than the rest of the house. In my case it's the opposite. I have wooden cabinets and trim but the rest of my house is painted.

I have all light cupboards and walls and the trim around all the windows and doors are dark and it looks just fine, it actually blends in with the wood look Formica counter tops (lighter than around the windows and the floor that is a lighter brown tiles. To me it highlights the windows in the kitchen.

I vote for keeping the windows in maple. There are few things more irritating to a new homeowner than to find that the home's windows were previously painted with multiple coats of paint and now need stripped...

You didn't mention your location, but in some parts of the US, maple cabinets are sought to provide a lighter, but more natural look to the home, although there appears to be little liklihood that white kitchen cabinets will go out of style.
