things to consider: 1 how much light do you need from those windows? 2 safety- is the stove or outlets close? 3 how often do you need to open those windows? These answers will help you decide if you want big billowing curtains or simple contained in the window space. There are many options for adding with your fabric- ribbon, another fabric, Lace, etc. . I like simple curtains with using grograin ribbon for hanging tabs and maybe a complementary fabric across the bottom. Have fun!!Helpful Reply -

This so easy, use a pattern or make your own, folds a 1/4 inch under iron, fold 1inch under iron then sew, do all edges the same, use small extension rod in the top pocket.Helpful Reply -

2 yds isn't very much fabric ... fabric should be twice as wide as the area to be covered if you're going to gather it. I would strongly suggest pre-washing to see how much shrinkage there will be. The idea of tabs is nice and since you don't have very much fabric, the idea above of adding complementary fabric to the bottom -- a wide white eyelet trim looks good with gingham -- is a good way to stretch what you have.Helpful Reply -

What are the measurements of the windows you wish to cover? How wide are the doors? 2 yards doesn't seem nearly enough unless the windows are tiny.Helpful Reply -

I think that you may need more than 2 yards. Good luck! You got this ๐Helpful Reply -

I agree-- probably not enough yardage. I make simple curtains all the time for some mountain cabins. I haunt GoodWill and Walmart for twin flat sheets. The casing goes on the top rod then you just cut them the appropriate length and your done. Best thing I ever discovered.Helpful Reply -

yes I do not have enough material to do the windows and valance curtains for the doors, but I'm gonna check walmart for more material today. I have enough for the window. I like the idea of the twin size sheets also, but I doubt I can find red check sheets.Helpful Reply -
