What Are you thinking?
It would be possible. I'd use Power Grab by Loktite to hold it in place. No nails or screws needed.
If you are thinking of going with an industrial look, you can buy a galvanized looking tin from a home improvement store and cut it to the size of your cabinet doors. It may be difficult to work with as far as cutting but the Locktite glue idea should work great for adhering it. I hope you'll post about what you do. :)
