The previous owner painted the inside of the cabinets a vibrant emerald green... trying to decide whether to paint them, paper them, or ??? Looking for suggestions...thinking of painting the outside of the cabinets a pale gray.....

Oh my, what were they thinking! It's going to be a job but I think priming and painting will be the best long term solution. Papering will be tedious with the measuring and cutting plus it may come loose. Nothing like crisp white for the inside of cupboards. You can see everything stored in them.

I would use Citirstrip to remove the exsisiting paint, if you do not want to re paint removable contact paper may be a option

  • I would definitely paint them, perhaps either white or the same pale gray as the outside. Then perhaps add a non-adhesive shelf liner in a decorative design.

Just paint them the same gray you paint the cabinets.

If you paint the inside and outside the same color, your job will be so much easier. It is not easy to get crisp lines where one color stops and the other starts.
