Hang curtains to hide the laundry, or purchase large fabric bins or baskets for fabrics.
Place dry detergents in similar moisture proof containers, clearly labeled.
If garage is not heated, items must be stored in weatherproof containers, to avoid cracks/leaks.
Use baskets or containers with lids to hide the laundry if you can.
Thats what we did for my mom.
We found plastic wicker tall basket with a lid.

You could add a shelving unit to store laundry items, you can add some cute laundry signs around it, you could paint the area of the laundry space
Shelving and bin organization is always a good place to start. If they're front load you could incorporate a big countertop too!
