DIY Numbered Shower Curtain

Before you start this project, you want to make sure you have all the supplies you need. You may have many of these supplies around the house. Here's the list of supplies that you need:

Red Cotton fabric from Wal-mart (the thicker the better)

Scissors

White Shower Curtain

Sharpie

Pins

Print out two large numbers on your computer in Ariel Bold. Choose the two numbers that you want to add to your shower curtain.

These numbers were printed at 700 x.

After you print out the numbers, you want to cut them out with scissors. This is your template.

Take your 700x Bold Ariel Font numbers and trace them with a sharpie.

Backwards.

Because if you trace them frontwards, the sharpie line will show.

Lightly trace around the backwards number with a sharpie.

Cut out the numbers. They don't have to be perfectly cut. We are going to fray the edges to make them feel a little more vintage.

Next, you'll want to then pin them onto the white shower curtain.

I pinned them diagonally to create the impression that they were a sail off a sailboat.

Then, stitch a one-inch border on the numbers in contrasting thread.

Instead of adding a hem, I decided to fray the edges of the numbers slightly.

Here's a no-sew option if you aren't a sewer. Use fabric glue to glue the numbers onto the shower curtain. Then draw in the stitches with a fine-tipped white sharpie.

That's it.

Your shower curtain is ready to hang up in your bathroom.

I added nickel-plated shower curtain rings to mimic the look of sailboat riggings.

Plain and boring.

Here's the after.

And now?

This shower curtain has tons of personality.

If you squint, you might even believe you were sailing the seven seas.
