My fire place looks cheap it needs a make over!

It's not real big as far as how far it sticks out. It's brick painted white. The room colors are olive green,burgundy,gold, with oat tables .

    Maybe two tone it. Does it have a mantle. You could stain the wood mantle, paint it a natural color, such as wheat , oat etc... But I really don't know so here is a link http://www.bhg.com/decorating/color/basics/color-and-interior-brick-tones/

    The problem may be the white brick with the darker colors. Tone it down with a soft tan or taupe, even something similar to your tables, so it doesn't overpower everything else.

    They have some brick pens and Sharpie makes an oil paint pen. You could tape it off into the exact brick lines and use a good gold color. The oil paint gold from Sharpie is great it can also be easily removed with alcohol.
