Shelf DIY Upgrade- Painted Shelf

I love Color. Color moves me. If you doubt that statement go check out my Instagram account is COLOR everywhere.
This was no different.
Don't be afraid of getting free wood furniture. Very little love and they will last you a lifetime.
This was an ugly greenish color and I hate it but I need a little shelf to put all my pretty things.
The color I chose was a tangerine shade from valspar. Did not disappoint me at all. I always pick paint samples at the home improvement store. Sometimes I mix them myself to get to where I want to be but this Tangerine was right on spot.
I did not sand this piece since the paint that was on it was a chalk paint that I new it would be applying a new fresh coat.
Most people will let g of a piece of furniture that is solid wood to buy a cheap particle board Item in a fancy store and spend a lot. Get the same look by doing it yourself.
I ended applying 2 coats of this paint. not because it was necessary but because I wanted a deeper tone
It now sits in my living room holding all my antiques. I love it.
I used 2 of the paint sample sizes
