N Boulder Pergola
Completed for a Client.
Here is the last couple weeks work...we had some nasty weather delays, snow at my house and rain here at this job site. After a few weeks Of dry weather I'll be back for some staining and to build up some tile or flagstone column bases.
This back yard patio areas, was a real cooker...just a little shade from a young maple tree. Owners wanted a pergola to break up out intense Colorado sunshine.
The original plan was 6x6 cedar columns with 4x6 beams and "slats", After some prep work they wanted 4 x 8 beams set a bit lower. The visual "balance" of the larger beams set a bit lower provides for a more intimate space.
Advice:
20 foot long 4 x 8 cedar beams are heavy...this part of the job is best done with 2 people....the other stuff it hard but doable with 1 body.
